Do you want to participate in Freestyle wrestling, an International discipline, and an Olympic sport? Would you like to gain a recognised skills award? Read on for more information.
The wrestling skills award is an introduction to Olympic Freestyle Wrestling for the Northern Ireland youth, through a series of four awards; it offers young wrestlers the opportunity to be graded in Freestyle Wrestling, attaining certificates of achievement and Bronze, Silver and Gold badges.
Each level will present fundamental technical skills along with related games and exercises. Participation in the Wrestling Skills Award will enhance the overall development of physical fitness and muscular strength and having completed all four levels, the young wrestler will have a good understanding of Freestyle Wrestling Techniques.
Designed primarily for boys and girls between the ages of 8-17; compatible for the Duke of Edinburgh Awards and the Scout Badge Awards and all participants must be current members of the NIOWA. |
